Howard the Dog, Chester the Cat, and Harold the Dachshund Puppy find themselves alone on Halloween when the family goes out to do their Halloween stuff.  Chester is doing what he can to frighten poor Harold, who has never experienced Halloween.  Howard, being a big softie, tries to calm little Harold but it's not working so well.  Chester laughs and laughs.

A storm moves in and the lights go out.  Well!  Chester isn't laughing anymore!  All of a sudden the front door opens and a witch walks in!  She goes to the kitchen and starts boiling something on the stove.  Suddenly she stops and, looking around asks, "Where are those animals?"
Holy smoke! Howard, the narrator of the story says, "I never imagined that the three of us could fit behind the sofa at the same time, but no one stopped to measure." : )
Does the witch find them?  Is she really a wicked witch like the trio of friends think?
Read Scared Silly: a Halloween Treat, part of Howe's Bunnicula and Friends series and find out! This is a really fun Halloween read - scary, but not too scary.
Happy Reading!
