Sally likes to be first.  First in line, first finishing lunch, first out the door, it doesn't matter.  Sally wants to win at everything.  When she doesn't, she cries and yells and bullies.

One day at recess, Sally's friends decide they have had enough.  In the middle of a game of soccer they walk off the field. They nickname her "Sally Sore Loser" and tell her they don't want to play with her anymore. Sally sits down in the middle of the field and cries.

After recess, Sally's teacher, Mr. Taylor, talks to her about what happened. He tells her about good sportsmanship, giving her a list of rules to follow.  She talks about it with her mother who tells her Mr. Taylor was right and making some suggestions as to how Sally can once again be accepted by her friends.

Will Sally win at being a good friend? Read Sally Sore Loser and find out!

Good sportsmanship is such an important lesson to teach our children.  Sally Sore Loser is a great start.  Also, at the back of the book there is a section that gives advice on how we, as parents, can continue that lesson.  You can't go wrong with Frank Sileo's Sally Sore Loser!
Happy Reading!
